After speaking with Nancie, I quit shopping and moved forward with the purchase. As a result of our conversation, I am now able to relax during the vacation knowing that any unforeseen emergency will be taken care of—and isn't that what a vacation is all about?! Thanks for the assistance, please take a minute to recognize Nancie for her outstanding customer service.

Weather, natural disasters and travel insurance

March 2nd, 2010

John, Customer Care Manager

The recent earthquakes, snowstorms and other natural disasters triggered an increase in calls to our customer care staff with questions about how travel insurance responds. The following highlights some features offered by most of our Package Policies.   Coverage applies to both pre-departure Trip Cancellation and post-departure Trip Interruption:

  • Your accommodation at your destination made uninhabitable by fire, flood, volcano, earthquake, hurricane or other natural disaster
  • Your home made uninhabitable by fire, flood, volcano, earthquake, hurricane or other natural disaster
  • Inclement weather causing a complete cessation of services of your common carrier

Since specific coverage differs by policy, make sure to view the coverage details prior to purchase or, if you prefer, speak to one of our licensed customer care representatives. As always, travel insurance covers unforeseen events so be sure to secure your insurance well in advance of your actual travel dates.

I must say that the three reps that I have conversed with on three separate calls have been most courteous and have thoroughly answered each of my questions. They have made my purchase enjoyable and I assure you I will do business with you in the future and refer others. Thank you again for all of your help.
