Travel Insurance For Ski Trips
Travel insurance can be an important part of your ski trip planning.
Some questions you should consider when planning a ski or snowboard vacation include:
- Is my ski equipment sufficiently covered if lost or damaged?
- If my equipment is lost, stolen or damaged or delayed, do I want coverage for rental expenses?
- Do I have sufficient medical coverage in my destination country?
- Should I choose emergency evacuation coverage to a hospital of my choice should I become injured?
- Is “search and rescue” part of the evacuation coverage?
- What if my trip is canceled or delayed due to bad weather or mountain road closures?
As you consider Travel Insurance for your trip, we suggest reviewing these types of plans and coverage:
Package Plans
These plans offer the broadest protection, including coverage for trip cancellation, interruption, baggage and travel delay, as well as medical and emergency evacuation. They’re available for either domestic or international travel.
Travel Medical Plans
These plans are only available for international travel (outside the U.S.)
They help cover medical expenses where your health plan leaves off.
Equipment coverage
Equipment coverage is only included in a Package Plan. Considered part of the Baggage coverage, it protects you if your ski equipment is lost, stolen or damaged.
Some plans also include rental reimbursement should your equipment fall victim to the above.
