I just wanted to write and say thank you. My mother was hesitant getting insurance for this flight but after getting 'burnt' last fall on a cancellation fee, she decided to take it out this time. What a blessing it was to have the insurance; it really helped out! Thank you so very much.

In anticipation of the Qantas shutdown we called Access America to find out specifically what might be covered. The employee didn't seem to be very knowledgeable and frequently had to consult with a supervisor, about things that we felt should be at the top of his head. After a lengthy conversation, things appeared to be straightened out and a claim form was emailed to us, which fortunately didn't need to be used, as the Qantas shut down was ended.

    If the Strike resulted in a complete
    cessation of travel services at the point of departure or destination and was not foreseeable at the time of purchasing the policy.
    A Strike is considered foreseeable on the date labor union members
    vote to approve a Strike and would not be covered under the policy.

I have used Travelex in the past and found that the claim process was cumbersome and designed to discourage claims. I only used this again because it was the best option. I will try not to use Travelex in the future.

Did not have a claim, so price for the insurance seems high. Peace of mind in having the insurance and trusting that payment will be made in the event of a claim is good, though.
