Access America insurance was not recognized by the one hospital in Shanghai that accepts insurance. Other local hospital (in ex-pat area) accepts cash only. Fortunately I didn't need medical care.

    I’m with Access America’s Help Team. We’re glad that you did not need medical care while in Shanghai. It sounds like the hospital you checked with did not recognize the Access America brand, but would have acknowledged our corporate name, Mondial Assistance. We most likely could have arranged direct billing, so that you would not have had to incur out of pocket costs. We hope we have the opportunity to serve you again and wish you the best in your future travels.
