I did not have to file a claim, but the peace of mind this travel insurance brought was worth the price as my travel dates drew near. There were a few factors in my personal life that could have potentially altered my plans so I appreciated the "cancel for any reason" portion of my plan. This was the main reason I purchased the plan. I had not purchased travel insurance in the past, and I might not again in the future unless I found myself again with a situation where I could anticipate a sudden change of plans.

The "Classic Plan" is the coverage I desired. Interesting, while underwritten by AMEX, this plan is not available from AMEX. Great that I didn't have file a claim. The value of any policy is in its claims paid. I can't comment on that.

Sure but didn't file claim so can't say anyting about that. The company should state clearly that the policy's final cost will depend on the ages of the persons being insured upfront. I was surprised at the final cost but it was explained by the rep, not without some "that should have been obvious" feelings being tossed my way. Anyhow, would use the company again without reservation because as I was backing over the waterfall 160 feet in the air wrapped in a rope, I actually thought about how pleased I was that I was insured in this far-away country!! Enjoy your travels!

Hi John, I'm sorry to hear one of our Customer Service Agents made you feel you should've known, this is not told until you input your date of birth on the buy page. We will be working on trying to get this information more upfront. Most of our plans go by your age at time of purchase not at time of travel. Hope you had a great trip.
