I didn't have to use the insurance, but it looked good on paper.

Although I did not used the plan, piece of mind is priceless. I bought the plan only a month before leaving on our trip and the timing did not reflex in the price. I have used InsureMyTrip many time and I've always been satisfied. The customer support personnel are a great resource for any questions at all. They have even saved me money and saved me from buying the wrong type of insurance!

Fortunately, I didn't run into any problems so I didn't make use of the plan. The coverage and price and flexibility of this plan really appeal to me and I'm already using the same plan for the next leg of my travels. Certainly, the real test will be calling and filing a claim; but I do hope I won't have to!

Our trip went off as planned and we didn't need to use the insurance. I did like the emails with reminders and planning advice as our travel date got closer and felt that the company was engaged with me, the customer. Other trips have not gone as well and I always recommend travel insurance, because you never know.

This is a review of the Travelex Travel Basic plan. I should say I'm very skeptical of insurance companies. I also believe that the only real evaluation of an ins company can be made if you try to actually file a claim. Any other review is not based on real information.

As marketed, it seemed to have the emergency health care coverage I needed for a ski trip to Europe (my girl friend did not have any type of health insurance, so I thought it prudent to get something).

I talked to a representative on the phone to try to confirm what was covered and what was not. The agent was very patient and answered my questions fairly completely. I called back to talk to another representative to confirm what the first had told me. I got different, less satisfying answers. This is what my experience with insurance companies has been, not everyone interprets things the same. I crossed my fingers and purchased it anyway, as it seemed a fair price compared to other comparable insurance available.

I went on the trip, nothing happened, no claim needed.

So I can only say that their sales office will answer the phone, I can't say if they would actually ever pay a claim. So I'm rating them 3 stars.

Amex Global is excellent, my trip was postponed for illness and I was able to change the dates of the insurance. I have used them repeatedly for trips and always have excellent service with or without claims.

We made flight reservations ($6,000) and made payments to several rental homes three months prior to our trip. The trip insurance gave us comfort knowing we had much less money at risk in the event we could not take our trip.

I thought the policy we purchased was reasonably priced and the contract was easy to read and understand.

As we did not file a claim, I cannot comment on the insurance provider.
