We traveled with our grandsons 16, 12 and when traveling with youngsters it's always best to allow for the unknown events that may arise. Fortunately our trip has been completed without any problems..

David would not recommend this plan to a friend or relative.
While in Maui, I was impacted by the Tsunami in Japan. I was subject to a mandatory evacuation by the police and spent the night in my car from 10 pm to noon the next day with my wife and two toddlers. I filed a claim for "loss of use" of 1 night condo rental, a modest claim of $197. After submitting quite a bit of paperwork and waiting one month, I was denied because there was no structural damage to the property. I suppose Travel Guard considers the threat of a Tsunami and police action insufficient grounds to evacuate.

    Unfortunately, under this plan, mandatory evacuations are not covered. We do have plans on the site with specific wording for protection against situations like these.

      I have read the fine print. My attorney and I had a different opinion regarding this exclusion. She issued a demand letter and the insurance company issued a check (without further dispute) immediately. It is unfortunate that the company only took action after an attorney got involved.
