I reluctantly took out insurance only to have my traveling companion die two months before our departure. American Express Global Travel Shield Plan reimbursed me in full for my expenses without any hassle.

Never having bought insurance before, I think I was satisfied. One never really knows until you file a claim if everything you thought it was is true. I do have a question. What is the longest period of coverage for an overseas trip? Several months?
