My wife and I both got travelers diarrhea in Peru and missed 2 days of a 14 day trip. In the past, travel insurance has covered trip interruption, but not this time. In fact nothing was covered by this trip insurance. I will tell everyone who will listen concerning our experience.

Having CSA travel protection gave me peace of mind. I'm thankful I didn't need it but happy I had it. As I go through my bucket list of adventures there have been times I have said to myself, "could this be dangerous?" or "should I really eat that?" You just never know! Having travel protection is a big part of feeling safe where ever I go.

My travel partner sprained her ankle on Machu Picchu. She finally saw a Dr in Quito, Ecuador. 3 different Drs looked at her ankle; she got an Xray, a boot, crutches, and pain pills. This cost her $185. Much less than the cost of my trip insurance. Maybe I made a mistake, spending so much money.

Trip Interruption - Coverage is provided if an Insured is unable to continue his/her trip due to; a) death, occurring prior to the Insured's return to his/her Home Country, of an Insured Person's Immediate Family Member; b) serious damage to the Insured Person's principal residence from fire, flood or similar natural disaster (tornado, earthquake, hurricane, etc.). The Company will reimburse the Insured Person for the cost of travel, less the value of applied credit from an unused return travel ticket to return to their Home Country. This benefit is limited to the cost of a one-way economy airfare or ground transportation and is subject to a maximum of $5,000 per policy period.
