It's insurance if you need it..thankfully we did not but it is assurance that if something were to happen we would be covered. So a worry free vacation abroad.

We recently looked at insurance for an upcoming trip. Sadly, the AMEX Global Travel Shield Classic plan was nearly 50% more expensive than comparable plans. As a result, we will not be using AMEX GTSC for that trip. This is the first time that AMEX has been so out of line in pricing. It makes no sense, given our past use of AMEX. While we have been very happy in the past with AMEX, we were not 50% cost more happy.
