Roger would not recommend this plan to a friend or relative.
We are independent travelers. We usually buy trip insurance when we make the first purchase, which is often the air fare. We then add to the coverage as expenses increase for accommodations, train tickets, tours etc. With some companies, that is easy to do online. Global Alert, however, cannot handle these additions either online or with a simple phone call. It requires calling to get an email address or fax number and then a multiple step process to exchange information. We will need to go through this process several times before we are done planning the trip. I wish that we had spent more and selected a company that provides better customer service.

I wish I had known that I needed to immediately get actual arrival time and new flight data from the airline for my flight delay claim. I waited until my trip was over and had difficulty in getting this information from the carrier. TruTravel was extremely helpful and promptly paid the claim when I finally got the information they needed.

Only the Trip Protection is worth the money, for a trip to UK. They allow any to use their medical free of charge.

The Salesman should have known this and told me. Rather then UP Sell me.

Our trip was to visit and care for a very sick mother in law. Never had the full experience of the insurance policy as, luckily, never had to file a claim. But the peace of mind was there.
