John would recommend this plan to a friend or relative.
I have had an American Express green card since 1965--
I got it for my first trip to Europe that year.

So naturally I was happy to learn that American Express offered travel insurance. Maybe that should be made more obvious to cardholders or offer a deal
to them, perhaps a discount. Or be able to use miles.

We didn't have any issues to create a claim but
based on my long-time experience with American
Express I'm confident it would be handled well.

I am thankful we did not need to file a claim but we had the assurance of knowing we were covered. American Express had the best coverage for the price and we will stick with them in the future. Last year the very trip we just took had to be canceled because 4 days before departure, I had to have a serious emergency surgery. I have elderly parents and my husband's brother is in bad health, so we never know what might happen that might impact our trip.
