We recently looked at insurance for an upcoming trip. Sadly, the AMEX Global Travel Shield Classic plan was nearly 50% more expensive than comparable plans. As a result, we will not be using AMEX GTSC for that trip. This is the first time that AMEX has been so out of line in pricing. It makes no sense, given our past use of AMEX. While we have been very happy in the past with AMEX, we were not 50% cost more happy.

I had no claims, however I felt that I had sufficient coverage to cover any loss which may have encountered.
My only complaint is that for this and the previous similar policy, it took four attempts to have the correct birth dates printed on the policies.

Purchased insurance for sailing trip in the Caribbean. Included air travel from SLC to Baltimore over Christmas then down to BVI for bare boat charter. I did injure my foot on trip, but did not require medical treatment. Return trip included flights back to Baltimore and then on to SLC. Lot of opportunity for lost luggage or missed flights. Fortunately all went according to schedule and insurance was not used, but was reassuring we had coverage.
