I purchased the coverage many months before our trip, just in case. Happily, we didn't need to file a claim before, during, or after so I can't speak to that aspect, but it gave me peace of mind to have the insurance.

InsureMyTrip was very helpful in assisting me w/choosing the best plan for my circumstances. I especially appreciated the fact that an actual human always promptly answered the phone. =) My husband got a new job so we had to cancel our trip, and luckily we had purchased the "cancel for any reason" plan. Global Alert was extremely helpful and quick to follow up. The paperwork was very straight forward and easy to complete. It took about a month for me to actually receive the different checks, but I was expecting it to take awhile to process. Great experience; will purchase again!

We had to cancel an expensive pre-paid tour shortly before departure due to a medical reason. I was pleased with how smoothly the claim process went. I appreciated being able to track the progress of our claim online.
It took a little over three weeks from the day I sent in the documentation for the claim to the day I got the refund check.
I am very thankful that we had purchased travel insurance and that there weren't a lot of hassles involved in getting our refund.
