This was a short trip during the winter holiday season. Even a one day weather delay would have cost multiples of the purchase price for the insurance, so this gave me all the peace of mind I could ask for. An agent was very helpful in getting me the exact coverages I wanted; I really liked the personal service.

Not sure how you can rate a plan when you do not file a claim. It seemed to cover the items we wanted, but how do you know until you need to file a claim!

Fortunately we did not have to use our coverage but it was comforting to know that we were covered for the all the important items. We did research on a number of plans and decided this was a good price for the coverage provided.

Roger would not recommend this plan to a friend or relative.
We are independent travelers. We usually buy trip insurance when we make the first purchase, which is often the air fare. We then add to the coverage as expenses increase for accommodations, train tickets, tours etc. With some companies, that is easy to do online. Global Alert, however, cannot handle these additions either online or with a simple phone call. It requires calling to get an email address or fax number and then a multiple step process to exchange information. We will need to go through this process several times before we are done planning the trip. I wish that we had spent more and selected a company that provides better customer service.

As a nurse, I sometimes have to cancel-its higher than most, but covers more as well as what most do not. Even the airlines recommended you! Peace of mind worth the price. Did not have to utilize services yet.
