So nice to have a policy of follow-up to a client and wish them bon voyage. Thank you. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our plans. Your accounting department pleasantly refunded our premium weeks ago. I can assure you, we and our friends will be recommending you to others and will come back to you for our insurance needs.
In this day and age, hearing from others about their purchases is crucial. With an important product like travel insurance, it’s even more valuable. Explore the thousands of travel insurance reviews we've collected from real customers to help you decide which product is right for you.

Although I have never needed to make a claim, I find that having trip insurance is valuable. I particularly like the cancel for any reason option because the possibility of work or family responsibilities that fall outside the customary coverages provide added insurance that I will not face a loss of my non-refundable pre-payments. The Global Alert Preferred policy provided the best combination of price and bundle of benefits among the CAR coverages that I researched.

We had to file a claim. Turns out it was through a third party. We had mixed experiences with various representatives - a couple were understanding and helpful, a couple seemed completely disinterested in assisting and several average. The claim process seemed harder to get through than the two other companies I have had to file claims through in the past - but it might have been my personal difficulties causing me to see this particular claim as onerous. However, there were multiple phone calls - something not necessary with earlier claims. Ultimately, the claim was fully paid, everything we thought was covered was, but the need to have to make multiple phone calls would make me hesitate to use the company again.

We have bought travel insurance several times through InsureMyTrip. Every time it has been easy to locate the best plan (one that provides a waiver for pre-existing conditions) and to buy it. The personnel contacted by phone have always been helpful. It seems to be getting more expensive, but then we are getting older. Fortunately I have never had to file a claim. In this I seem to resemble almost all the folks who post reviews. Last time I looked through 600-some reviews to find a person who had had claim experience. I think I found two -- and one was negative and the other positive. Would like to see more comments from people who have filed claims. The only other criticism I have of the plans is that they seem to be targeted to people who prepay a fixed cost for a trip -- like for a cruise, and not for people who pay as they go and perhaps only have pre-paid costs for air tickets and hotels (although we did have prepaid private tour costs for this last trip, to Patagonia). The only reason we usually get travel insurance is for the medical provisions, since Medicare doesn't cover problems outside the US, and we would want to be flown home if any problem occurred.
