The principal reason I bought this insurance was to satisfy a Swiss visa requirement. Based on other reviews it appeared to be the best choice, and the purchase process was painless, but I didn't expect to get any money from it and I didn't. We had several medical bills totaling a few hundred euros, which was below the policy deductible so I have no idea if the company would have paid. The paperwork provided by the foreign doctors was so different from its U.S. equivalent that I can envision big arguments about reimbursement, so I'm just as happy not to have had to file a claim.

I almost had to use the plan. I got quite sick in Saigon, and went to the emergency room when I got back to Singapore, because there is no number to call in Vietnam. I'm not filing a claim because the bill was less than my deductible in the end. I called the number listed for Singapore, to reach their office in Sing when needed, and it was not a Singapore number. It didn't even have the right amount of digits for a Sing number. I found an internet cafe while miserably ill to try to look up online which docs I can go to. Basically, very little info was provided at all about the claims process or just getting me well. I don't know if I would use it again.
