One cannot really judge an insurance plan until one needs to make a claim, so the 4-stars are with the assumptions that had I needed to make a claim, the process and coverage would have been as I understood it from the information provided. But, how often is that true with insurance companies.

I did not end up using the insurance. But later found out from my friend who traveled with me and I recommended she get the same coverage that I would have had to pay for all the expenses up front and then would have gotten reimbursed. I did not know this so will select a different coverage in the future.

    I spoke to Customer Service about this and was told that they could make arrangements to guarantee payment. In any event, all of these plans are Indemnity, so no matter who you choose, you'll need to pay upfront and file a claim... even if you select a primary insurer.

Did not have to use. But I did find out....In Costa Rica where I traveled to they have universal coverage. For the price it was good for piece of mind.

I purchased this insurance to cover me in Case I became ill while away since my health insurance does not cover expenses out of the country. Well, I did become ill while visiting Costa Rica. The 3 hour stay in the hospital, intravenous treatment and doctors care with prescription for antibiotics came to a total of about $275( 1/20th the cost in the US). HTH Worldwide paid the total cost and I was very happy .
