Because we did not have to actually use the insurance (and we are very glad we didn't), we are, of course, most pleased with the company. Also, it was a NEW company on InsureMyTrip; and there were no reviews of it prior to our trip so we worried about our selection . . . . . but, we knew we would not select this other, different, company because they did NOT deliver when we had a claim.

The trouble with reviewing trip insurance is that you never know whether the policy was good or not until you need it, and luckily we did not on this trip. But InsureMyTrip.com is helpful for pointing out how policies differ from each other and which is the cheapest for the same coverage. The package that the airlines offered at the end of the plane ticket booking process turned out to be a little more money for less coverage than the TravCan Premier plan that we bought from Insuremytrip.com.

This insurance provided much more medical coverage for foreign travel than my own policy. I fortunately did not have to submit a claim but it was comforting knowing I had this comprehensive coverage while away. Initial purchase of insurance was simple and the follow-up from company was excellent.

We wanted "peace of mind" about being able to recover the expenses we were prepaying should anything prevent our making or completing our trip. The policy we bought offered that.
