PAULA would recommend this plan to a friend or relative.
The best thing about insurance is NOT needing it.
Having heard the horror stories about travel problems, it was comforting to know that IF I needed medical evacuation, it would be arranged and paid for.
I thought the fact that the premium went up with age is understandable for the general population, but not necessarily for specific individuals.

Happily I did not need to use my policy, but since we were going to be outside the country, it provided the peace of mind that I needed to know that anything health wise would be taken care of. For the small price, that peace of mind was well worth it.

When looking for trip insurance-I am most interested in primary trip health insurance coverage-as my coverage is not valid outside the U.S. Everything else lost bags, delays etc I can deal with but to get sick or injured could be a real problem.

I spent many hours and several days looking over all of the plans and benefits I could find on internet, especially the plan our travel agent recommended as used by her company. I reviewed comments submitted, as well, and tried to weed through those who expected to be reimbursed quickly and had to wait a little and posted negative reviews. I found the John Hancock plan to be overall the best deal - dollar for dollar. Fortunately, we had a great trip and we did not have to use our insurance - it felt good knowing it was there, though.
