Our trip was to visit and care for a very sick mother in law. Never had the full experience of the insurance policy as, luckily, never had to file a claim. But the peace of mind was there.

I had to cancel my trip due to a medical emergency that arose about a week before I was supposed to leave. TravelGuard did reimburse me but they required almost a year's worth of ALL medical records to process the claim. That seems excessive, especially since I had pre-existing conditions coverage. Also, they don't acknowledge receipt of the claim and documentation; you have to wait 30 days before you can inquire about it. My refund came about three weeks after I submitted it.

Harold would recommend this plan to a friend or relative.
This plan covered the BIG problem, evacuation. I've already got health insurance, but I didn't want to get caught having to wait for an approval in the event that something went terribly wrong.

And, many companies in E. Africa won't deal with you unless you have a minimum of evacuation insurance since they don't want to get stuck with the bill either.

I was grateful for the plan. One of the people on the team was hurt badly and had to be airlifted. unfortunately they did not have insurance for this and cost them a lot. Thank God they will be ok. Thanks again for the reassurance this gave me on my trip
