The representative that I talked to on the phone was helpful and courteous. She answered my questions and was very informative. She did not try to "up sell" but got me the package that met my needs. I did not make a claim.

Fortunately we did not need to file a claim, but went with Travel Guard because of your reputation and the belief that had a claim been necessary, it would have been handled fairly and in a timely manner.

My son had a bad cough through the night. First thing in the morning, we contacted Travel Guard to see which doctor(s) he could go to. They asked 40 minutes of questioning, then the line got disconnected. I called back and had to go through the questioning again. Then I was told I had to wait for a medical rep to call me back because they were all "unavailable." That call came many hours later, and by that time the schedule for the day was shot. In the end, the medical rep saying my son could've gone to any doctor, but the customer reps wouldn't give me that basic information. I was so disgusted by the whole thing that I didn't go through the insurance because I didn't want to deal with Travel Guard again.

Bottom line: They are unavailable for emergencies. And if you have a tight vacation schedule, you DON'T want to be waiting hours for callbacks to see a doctor.

I traveled to Vail in February without a problem. My sister was on another flight and her flight was cancelled and rescheduled the next day. She was stuck in Dallas and had to pay for a motel stay and associated expenses related to the cancellation. I also like the peace of mind of the medical coverage for things my health insurance would not pay for such as travel back.

I thought the insurance was reasonably priced. Thankfully I did not need to use it and we enjoyed our trip! Cannot review on how the policy worked out b/c we did not need to use it. But would purchase this again from other reviews I read.

We would definitely purchase this plan again. Our vacation was for 3 weeks but we only got to stay 1 week. My dad got sick and we had return home to help care for him. We filed our claim in November 2012 and received our refund in late January 2013. The hardest part of the claim was getting the medical information from the doctors that treated him. Our claims analyst was great to work with and gave us guidance on what we needed and how to go about getting the claim forms filed. Very pleased with our purchase.
