I've been using InsureMyTrip for all my trips since about 2003, when I first discovered them. This is a lot of trips since I usually take 3 a year! It was the best find I ever made!

William would not recommend this plan to a friend or relative.
I hate buying trip insurance because the coverage is typically very limited. It is really just to protect you from losing all of your money in case cancellation of the trip is required.
If travelers would read the contract, they would be surprised at the small amount of coverage these plans provide. Reading the contract once the loss has occurred is too late.
All this being said, the InsureMyTrip website provides a great location to compare prices and plans. Just realize that good coverage will be very expensive.

Hurricane Sandy caused our original flight to be cancelled. This resulted in two additional hotel nights and meal expenses. I submitted the documentation and receipts required and received full compensation in less than 3 weeks. Will definitely use Travel Insured again and have already recommended to a friend that is traveling in a few months.

the simple truth is we had a great trip with no mishaps, so we only used insurance for piece of mind. That's the way it's supposed to work.
