Thankfully, I didn't end up needing to use the insurance coverage for this trip, but it gave me peace of mind while traveling into the Caribbean in the midst of hurricane season (several days after Hurricane Isaac swept through).

Like many others, we always purchase travel insurance with the expectation that we won't need to use it, but on this year's trip, we did.Apart from a few issues reaching TravelSafe/TravelMate from France (operator would not allow us to call the 603 number collect) we were very pleased with the claims process. Everyone we worked with was friendly, sympathetic, professional and competent. We were also impressed that our claim was resolved so quickly. The positive claims experience helped to erase a potentially-disastrous ending to our wonderful Paris trip---thanks again ! jen
