First off, I definitely recommend travel insurance overall it takes so much stress out of the 'what ifs' that come up while traveling. My only issue with my plan was that as secondary insurance I had to cover the healthcare costs out of pocket and wait to be reimbursed, because of this I couldn't afford to have some of the blood tests done that the doctor recommended. This might have been different if I had gone to an ER instead of the urgent care clinic that I went to. They were prompt with handling my claim and I had no issues with the claim. I would recommend this plan to friends and family I would just make sure that they were traveling with extra funds available in case something like this were to come up because it was very stressful and put a definite strain on my vacation to come up with the money for my office visit, blood tests and lab work out of pocket.

This is the third time we've used one of your plans.
You offer the best choices for our needs. We have two criticisms. 1. The windows for purchasing certain types of coverage (such as cancel for no reason, and pre-existing medical conditions waiver),
should be dropped. If we're willing to pay a higher premium, we should be able to purchase such coverages anytime. 2. Emergency medical evacuation should be up to the patient or the patient's surrogate, and not up to the local medical facility's staff. We've lived in the islands. We've seen patients end up permanently damaged or dead, as a result of incompetance & cover-ups. They insist they know what they're doing, but they don't. St. Thomas is a classic example. We feel that if we're willing to pay a higher premium, we should be taken out of a foreign location, to a proper modern facility of our choice, immediately, without delay, debate, or having to meet any criteria at the original foreign treatment center.
