My wife, daughter and I were stranded in Wash,DC by a missed connection on our return @ 5:00PM, 1/1/13. After being told that there was no flight available until 8:30 AM on 1/2/13, and receiving no help from United Airlines, I called your 800 number at about 6:00PM. I had questions as to what expenses might be covered, due to the 15 1/2 hour delay. I was informed by your male agent that due to the holiday, the claims department was closed and I should call back 1/2/13. To make a loooong story short, we spent a miserable, cold night laying on hard seats at the airport. For the total cost of $261.00 I paid for the 2 policies, I could have taken a taxi to the Phila. airport. I spoke to your agent (Believe it was Paul) on 1/4/13 and he said your would have probably covered expenses for a hotel, meal, etc, if we had incurred them. I wish your first agent had told me this as laying on a bench at our age was not exactly a pleasure. Although this plan is excellent, your service was lacking and I believe at least a partial refund may be due.
