This plan offered great peace of mind when arranging my trip so far in advance. As it turns out, I did not make any changes to my planned trip. I also did not make any claims against this policy, but it was nice to know I had the plan if I needed it.

I felt comfortable with the plan I chose and thankfully, did not have to use it. However, did have something stolen from my luggage, but did not follow the rules to report it to the police in a timely manner.

    Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We believe fellow customers will find this review to be very informative.

    The below requirements are industry standard for Baggage Loss claims, with slight variation from policy to policy.

    If Your property covered under the Policy is lost, stolen or damaged, You must:

    (a) notify the Company, or its authorized representative, as soon as possible;

    (b) take immediate steps to protect, save and/or recover the covered property;

    (c) give immediate notice to the carrier or bailee who is or may be liable for the Loss or damage;

    (d) notify the police or other authority in the case of robbery or theft within twenty-four (24) hours.

    Reimbursement is based on the Actual Cash Value of the property at the time of Loss up to the policy limits. Original receipts for the lost items may be required to receive a maximum amount of reimbursement.

A month after submission of a very well documented claim, I called for a status since the online claim tracker hadn't moved for two weeks. No one answered; however, the voice mail said someone would call back within 24 hours. No one did, but I got the same "will call you back within 24 hours" message. Again, no answer. I called again and actually got a person. They found my claim and said it would be expedited and I would hear from her in 3 workdays. At the 5 workday point, I called again and was told the claim was being reviewed and should be completed shortly. Evidently the claims work overwhelmed the available staff and everything was behind. Finally, after 2 1/2 months, the claim was paid.

We employ a Customer Advocate Program which specializes in contacting the insurance company on the customers behalf to help resolve the claim.

    The following is a statement issues by the claims administrator:

    “Thank you for writing a review and making us aware of your negative experience with your claim. I understand you are dissatisfied with the time it took for your claim to be paid and our communication during the claims process. You are correct, you filed a very well documented claim, and Trip Mate did not process your claim quickly. Our goal is to process your claim within 10 business days once all documentation is received, and we failed to achieve this goal with your claim. Being responsive and communicating clearly is a priority for our customer service team, and we fell short of this, as well. We agree that it is unacceptable to promise a call back and not fulfill that commitment. Please accept my sincere apologies for the frustration associated with your claim. We truly appreciate you sharing this feedback because your experience will help us improve our training and better assist other travelers.”

This policy is well worth the fee. I traveled with a great sense of security and 99% worry-free having purchased the Travel Safe Classic Travel insurance plan. In the event of something unexpected occurring, I had a back up plan with this policy. I would purchase again for any future travels.

My wife and I were joining three other family members and the health of all 5 of us was a factor. We were also a little worried about the weather in the Carribean. I was happy with the coverage and the price. Thankfully I did not need to use it, but the reassurance was a comfort as the trip approached.

April Travel Protection Choice
I called the company and the representative sold me exactly what I needed. Nothing more. This gave us great piece of mind for a very affordable price while our daughter was in China.

Seven Corners Roundtrip
How good is Seven Corners? For me, it's excellent. While pressing the right buttons on the website and selecting a company and policy that fits you is important, filing a claim is what really counts. My wife and I are retired and take three to four big trips annually and always get insurance. In the summer of 2014, we planned a ten day trip to Maui, a Caribbean cruise for the fall and a month in Maui in Jan-Feb. We then lived everyone's nightmare. On Sept 18th of 2014, our 38 year old daughter, who is a single parent that lives near us, was diagnosed with breast cancer. We knew all trips were off and our role as a parent and grandparent was greatly expanded. I filled out the all the Seven Corners paperwork with the doctors statement, visa statement, airline statements and turned in the first claim. It's important when filing a claim to think of the person who will handle it for Seven Corners. Unfortunately, there are dishonest people out there who will try to commit insurance fraud. Thus I knew I needed to be complete. Within a few weeks I received a check for all of my losses. Not having to fight with an insurance company was great, I don't know if I would have had the energy.
