I wasn't sure if I was going to buy trip insurance but we were taking our whole family of 10 on a cruise but I finally decided I didn't want to worry about someone getting sick, hurt, problems with travel carriers, etc. So I shopped for insurance and found this plan that I felt was affordable and provided good coverage. Glad we didn't have to use it, but I felt much more relieved as we approached the date of the cruise.

I did not have a claim this year but I have had a medical claim in the past and although the claim required me to submit a large volume of documentation, it was paid in a reasonable time frame by Nationwide. This year, our return flight was delayed 2 hours and it was questionable if we would be able to clear customs and immigration and make our connecting flight. If we had missed the connection, we would have been delayed overnight and we would have been covered for some of the out of pocket expenses that for a room while we waited for a flight the next morning. Luckily, we did make our connection but knowing that we had a backup plan if needed was a relief.

The plan was a bit confusing since it was a Caribbean Cruise and at first was written for an island we weren't visiting. It was difficult to get an answer as to why and then get it corrected.
