We are independent travelers. We usually buy trip insurance when we make the first purchase, which is often the air fare. We then add to the coverage as expenses increase for accommodations, train tickets, tours etc. With some companies, that is easy to do online. Global Alert, however, cannot handle these additions either online or with a simple phone call. It requires calling to get an email address or fax number and then a multiple step process to exchange information. We will need to go through this process several times before we are done planning the trip. I wish that we had spent more and selected a company that provides better customer service.
