We were looking for a medical plan which didn't over insure us. Our current Medicare supplement plans included a fixed amount of coverage while overseas, so we really only needed something which would increase that amount and, because we were in the remote Galapagos Islands, include medical evacuation coverage. The GeoBlue Voyager seemed to provide for our needs.

I telephoned your office and received a warm welcome as well as prevalent information which assisted with decision to purchase insurance from this company. We had no problems but one of our party had her bags lost for 3 days and our group leader had to go to a hospital emergency room half the way home. Those incidents certainly proved the need for travel insurance to my mind.

Didn't have to use the plan, so I really can't say much. We had a $150 medical charge, but our private medical insurer will cover that. We buy the insurance mostly for reimbursement if something happens before the trip that we would have to cancel going. Happy nothing happened.

It was very comforting to know I had the insurance. I had fallen before leaving for Ecuador and knew if I needed to I could cancel but did not have to use it...also when the travel agency made mistakes in our itinerary I was afraid we would miss our flights but again knowing we had the coverage made it ok...;in the end I never needed to use it...

Old adage... insure only what you cannot afford to lose.
I purchased only emergency medical/evacuation insurance (not trip cancellation) and paid a fraction of what other insurance carriers were charging. What I bought was peace of mind. Thanks!
