We've used insuremytrip twice, and the service has been impressive both times. We started buying trip insurance after losing over $10,000 in a cancelled vacation after emergency surgery. This was our first purchase of a plan from April, yet we were fully satisfied with their coverage and prices. Customers always want a lower price, so that explains the 4-star rating on value, but if the question had been worded as "price versus competition", then we would have given it 5 stars. Will definitely purchase again from insuremytrip.com for our next major vacation.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
I booked a trip to Germany through a tour company. I unknowingly paid for their trip insurance as part of the tour price. When I investigated their insurance company, I discovered that the coverage benefited the company more than it benefited me. So, I decided to do what I always do when I take a big trip: Go to insuremytrip.com and get me some travel insurance that benefits me. As usual I was satisfied with my purchase. Fortunately I didn't have to use it but I was happy knowing that I was covered just in case.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
I purchased this because we were strongly advised to do so by the trip organizers. However it was a waste of money. If your hotels have a 24 hr cancellation, you don' need this. Check your health insurance policy, if you have a good one, you don't need this. Check your credit cad, you probably will find you don't need this also

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
I don't really plan to write a review, but I would like to mention a small complaint. The insurer should have sent us cut-out wallet cards so that we would have contact information and the policy number in case the carry-on and checked bags containing the full information were lost or stolen. Some insurers do this.

Some providers, like C&F Travel Insured International, will provide a Conformation of Benefits page within their conformation email. This document was created for you to take with you while traveling and will house your policy details, contact information and policy numbers.

Travelex Travel Basic
We take out insurance coverage because of our ages--76 and 82. That's why it is no longer a value but we feel a necessity. I have had several claims on previous vacations and had no difficulties being reimbursed that's why I am confident with the insurance I buy through this site.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
Since I did not have to use the insurance this time no complaints. I have tried to use before but it is too hard to meet all the specific requirements. If I am paying for medical coverage abroad, that ins should pay first especially since Medicare will not cover anything outside the USA and should pay the bills direct to the medical facility. We have had to pay ourself in the past because we could not obtain all the correct paper work.

    Thank you for your comments on "secondary" medical coverage. However, we would like to take this opportunity to point out several benefits that were included in your CSA Custom plan.

    (1) CSA did provide "secondary" medical which would have required you to first submit your claim to any other primary collectible insurance policy. If the primary provider denied payment but it proved to be a covered medical expense under your secondary coverage plan, then CSA would have reimbursed you on a primary basis.

    (2) CSA offered ON DEMAND MEDICAL CARE through their
    Teladoc network (formerly Consult A Doctor TM) which offers 24/7 access to its proprietary nationwide
    cross-coverage network of U.S. licensed physicians for telephone and secure e-mail medical consultations.

    (3) CSA also offered "No Out-of-Pocket Medical Expense". If you had developed an acute illness while on your trip that required treatment by a physician, you could have called the
    Emergency Hotline to obtain the name of a local qualified physician in the assistance provider’s network. If an in-network physician was available, the assistance provider would have scheduled the medical visit and guaranteed payment to the physician for a medical visit not to exceed 1000 USD for covered medical conditions.

    (4) The CSA assistance provider also offered Interpretation/Translation services. The assistance provider would have assisted with telephone interpretation in all major languages or would have referred you to an interpretation or translation service for written documents.
