If you are traveling with someone who is not a family member and that person had to cancel the trip due to health issues, it would be very helpful if the plan covered the ensuing cost of traveling as a single, i.e. costs for single rooms instead of sharing a double.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
Of course, the truest means by which to evaluate an insurance product to have a claim processed, which I did not need to do. Nonetheless, my research found this company and product to be the most fairly prices and their telephone agents were knowledgeable and helpful.

I had an item stolen while traveling and filed a claim under this insurance. It was settled with no questions and no resistance on the part of Travelex. How nice an ending to a bad portion of my trip.

My only problem was that the InsureMyTrip site was not working properly when I tried to purchase the plan and I was issued 2 policies and billed twice. I was told by Insure that only one had been issued---but I called CSA and they issued a credit.

My CSA Travel Protection Plan was the least expensive plan of all the other plans that I considered purchasing. Your coverage was equal or superior at a lower rate.
