Our trip was cancelled because the river was too low for the cruise ship to operate. The cruise line was more than generous and offered a full refund of the trip since we didn't want to turn it into a bus excursion. We notified InsureAssist as soon as we found out (2 days before our scheduled departure). I could understand they might not refund the full policy cost, but 3 couples who planned to go with us got full refunds of premium from their insurance providers. InsureMyTrip fought for at least a partial refund for us, but InsureAssist denied our request even though we never left home. I could understand them denying a refund of the trip cancellation portion of the coverage, but I think it was wrong for them not to refund something as there was no possibility we were going to file any claims. I purchased coverage from InsureAssist on four previous occasions and never had a claim. I have recommended them to others, but I am glad no one took me up on it this time. I will purchase future trip insurance through InsureMyTrip, but will definitely select a different provider.
