Although, I didn't have to use any coverage for our family trip to Italy and Switzerland, it was very re-assuring to know that I had excellent health coverage while I was on vacation. Plus, the price was very affordable. I will always use InsureMyTrip when I travel to any foreign country or cruise.

Allianz Global Assistance Classic
I missed my connection in Istanbul on my way to Rome. When all was said and done the changes cost me around $600! I filed my claim and uploaded my documents easily. The claim was reviewed quickly and approved. I'm so thankful I purchased this plan, and I will definitely use it in the future. I would recommend this company and this plan to everyone who travels abroad.

Allianz Global Assistance Classic
This plan was reasonable priced and provided peace of mind in case anything happened. Our luggage was delayed 3 days and we had to purchase some items during that time. We got reimbursed for these items a few days after submitting the claim. I would recommend Allianz to anyone who travels abroad.

Allianz Global Assistance Basic
We did need to cancel a trip for medical reasons. This was not a package tour, so it was a bit difficult to assemble all the documentation. I'm not sure what was missing. They could have done a better job of notifying us of our status. In fact we got most, but not all, of the money we lost, so good enough.
I'll continue to take insurance, mostly for the medical and emergency components.

Coverage was great, and fortunately I did not need it. While it is great peace of mind knowing you have it, I really was happy I did not need it for any reason.

A month after submission of a very well documented claim, I called for a status since the online claim tracker hadn't moved for two weeks. No one answered; however, the voice mail said someone would call back within 24 hours. No one did, but I got the same "will call you back within 24 hours" message. Again, no answer. I called again and actually got a person. They found my claim and said it would be expedited and I would hear from her in 3 workdays. At the 5 workday point, I called again and was told the claim was being reviewed and should be completed shortly. Evidently the claims work overwhelmed the available staff and everything was behind. Finally, after 2 1/2 months, the claim was paid.

We employ a Customer Advocate Program which specializes in contacting the insurance company on the customers behalf to help resolve the claim.

    The following is a statement issues by the claims administrator:

    “Thank you for writing a review and making us aware of your negative experience with your claim. I understand you are dissatisfied with the time it took for your claim to be paid and our communication during the claims process. You are correct, you filed a very well documented claim, and Trip Mate did not process your claim quickly. Our goal is to process your claim within 10 business days once all documentation is received, and we failed to achieve this goal with your claim. Being responsive and communicating clearly is a priority for our customer service team, and we fell short of this, as well. We agree that it is unacceptable to promise a call back and not fulfill that commitment. Please accept my sincere apologies for the frustration associated with your claim. We truly appreciate you sharing this feedback because your experience will help us improve our training and better assist other travelers.”
