Did not have an abundance of insurance options when the word, "Iran" was listed as destination, but my experience there was never one which would be described as dangerous or uninsurable for reasons of terrorism, lack of health care, crime, etc. On my way home from Cape Cod to Minnesota I drove through Glastonbury ( I am originally from CT) and thought about stopping in to say no problemo in Iran but of course with insurance there never is a problem unless disagreement occurs regarding a claim. It was decided by me to purchase airplane fare before receiving visa so cancel for any reason was deemed important.

Thanks for asking. It was my first time buying trip insurance, and the process was straightforward, which I appreciate. It was hard for me to answer the question, "How satisfied were you with this plan?" To be able to respond, I would have had to file a claim and see how that process went (e.g., insurer's responsiveness, customer service, etc.) as that is the most critical part.

Thankfully I didn't have a need to file a claim. However, as I was traveling to Iran and didn't know until a week before the trip if we'd actually be going, I was grateful to have coverage. Also, my luggage was 2 1/2 days delayed, so it was good to know I had extra protection there as well. Since Iran does not have diplomatic relations with the US, I felt the coverage was pretty critical. Staff from insure my trip were extremely helpful in answering questions. I would use them and this coverage again. CE

    Thank you for your feedback on the policy. Premiums for comprehensive travel insurance policies are typically calculated based on: the pre-paid and nonrefundable trip cost, the age(s) of the traveler(s), the number of travelers, and the length of travel.
    In general, you should expect a policy will cost anywhere from 4%-10% of your total pre-paid, nonrefundable trip cost.
