I was fortunate because I didn't have to use my travel insurance, but having it sure gave me peace of mind in case something did come up...as it did for several other people on the trip with me.

Travelex Travel Basic
Delta offered us cheap coverage for the flights but we wanted the extra coverage for other arrangements. Delta would probably be cheaper for just the flight portion.

It is difficult to evaluate a travel insurance policy if you do not make a claim. Fortunately, we did not any problems, so I have no idea how well our insurer would perform when we really need them.
