Advantage Asset Plus
I purchased this MH Ross plan because it was the cheapest available that included a Cancel-for-any-reason benefit that I wanted on my hotwire.com nonrefundable hotel room reservation. Unfortunately my plans did end up changing so I had to file a claim.
I figured since this was a cancel-for-any-reason claim it would be pretty fast, but it wasn't really. They received the claim on July 11, I heard nothing until Aug 6th, where they said I needed to get a confirmation from Hotwire showing the room was cancelled without a refund. Got that and e-mailed it to them on the same day.
Didn't hear anything until Aug 18th, when they said it was only going to be paid based on half the room cost, because on my hotwire confirmation it said 2 people (I simply forgot to change their default booking option on the site, but the price is the same whether its 1 or 2 people as they are all based on double occupancy). So obviously I disputed that, and they said they would research it and get back to me. Not hearing anything I e-mailed Insuremytrip for assistance on the 21st, and that's all it took. Got a call from a customer advocate that same day saying its all been resolved. Got a call from MH Ross the next day saying the final payment is in the system and I'll be getting a check in a few weeks.
Definitely glad everything worked out, although I do feel like this should have gone much quicker, especially for a cancel-for-any-reason claim which doesn't involve getting medical records, etc. I applaud Insuremytrip for having a great customer advocate program, I'll keep coming back for that reason alone.
