American Express Global Travel Shield Classic
Something we hadn't thought about before purchasing insurance...we were supposed to take this trip with my brother and sister-in-law. We linked our reservations but bought our trip insurance separately. My sister-in-law got very ill and they cancelled their trip. They invoked their trip insurance and will get their costs covered. We looked into whether we could cancel and found that we could not. Even though sister-in-law qualifies as a family member, we could only cancel and get reimbursed if her illness was life threatening or we were primary care givers. Had we booked the insurance under one policy we could have cancelled since she would then be considered one of the insured travelers....however, it might have hindered them from collecting had we chosen to proceed. So, probably just as well that we bought insurance separately. But something to consider for future.
Monica R. would recommend this plan to a friend or relative.
