Nationwide Mutual Insurance Vacation Renter Protector
I filed a straightforward claim for a relatively small amount of money, "cancel for any reason", and the proper paperwork was submitted at that time. I was informed today that the claim will not be reviewed for 60 BUSINESS DAYS, due to limited staffing, etc. This is unacceptable, and apparently I do not have any other means of expediting the process. Waiting 12 weeks for the claim process to BEGIN is not reasonable, and will prevent me from buying from Nationwide again, or recommending the company to anyone else.
Contact me ONLY if you can help move this claim along faster.

    I apologize for the delay with your claim. Prior to the pandemic, travel insurance claims were typically processed within 30 days provided that all necessary documentation was sent in. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the volume of requests has become quite overwhelming over the last year and the normal processing time for claims with most Providers in the travel insurance industry is around 3-4 months.

Most travel insurance included air fare. We were not flying and did not want to pay a rate that included flights. The AIG Travel program we chose fit our travel plans perfectly.

I purchased insurance for my trip to the OuterBanks of NC when I made my reservations in the early months of 2022. My biggest concern that there would be a hurricane in the month of August, I was encouraged by the Airbnb host to secure insurance. The agent with insuremytrip was very informative and helpful in my decision. The cost of the insurance was a very reasonable price, and I was worry free heading toward the vacation month!

They provided insurance the day I needed it. Other companies need you to purchase it before you begin your trip. I did not know if I would need to fly back, or when. I needed one way coverage home.
