I had to cancel my trip because my elderly Mother fell and broke her hip. I filed all the required documentation with the initial claim. Allianz requested additional documentation which I immediately faxed. I called 10 days latter and was told they hadn't received the documentation even though I have the fax receipt. I faxed the documents again. I received payment over a month after the claim was filed. In summary, Allianz did pay the claim, but could have made the process smoother and faster.
