When you have to use a plan, this would be an AWESOME plan. We did not have to use it and of course, you believe that they are an extra added expense that you feel you don't want to add to an already expensive trip BUT if something would have happened we would have been glad to have been covered by this company. Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
We filed a claim for trip delay, but the maximum is $150 a day. I think this is a ridiculously low manximum. This didn't even pay for the hotel room for one night. The trip delay ended up costing us around $350 between hotel, food and taxi.

    You may have noticed when quoting and selecting your Nationwide plan that you had more than 35 Comprehensive Plans to choose from ranging from a low premium of 188.82 USD for your Nationwide Essential policy to a much higher premium of 620.00 USD for our most expensive plan. Although Nationwide is an excellent company with very quick and efficient claim service, the Essential still provides only the most basic coverage in order to keep its price down.

    Nationwide also offers a more expensive Prime plan offering higher limits and more covered reasons to cancel or interrupt your trip. For example, where your Essential plan only provided Travel Delay limited to 150 USD per day, 600 USD maximum, the Prime plan provides limits of 250 USD per day, 2500 USD maximum.
