The application form does not seem to allow one to come back and edit travel date changes. So my question is; if the initial insurance dates are specified and due to unforeseen circumstances, one leg of the journey has a date change, does that nullify insurance?

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. There is a way to adjust your dates of travel if you entered them in incorrectly during the quote process. When you are on the purchase page, click on the 'update quote' button on the top right hand side of the page. When purchasing your policy you would insure from the date you leave your home until you return to your home. If those dates change prior to your originally scheduled departure date, you would call InsureMyTrip to update your policy.
If dates change involuntarily after your effective date you have the following coverage:
"All coverages under the plan will be extended if your entire Covered Trip is covered by the plan and your return is delayed by unavoidable circumstances beyond your control.
If coverage is extended for the above reasons, coverage will end on the earlier of the date you reach your originally scheduled return destination or seven (7) days after the Scheduled Return Date.
In no event will coverage be extended due to voluntary reasons without prior consent from Travelex Insurance Services."

From the purchase and coverage options perspective, it was just the plan I was looking for. The good news/bad news is that I did not need to use any part of the plan (death and dismemberment) so I don't have any commentary about fulfilling the policy. That said, I would use it again.

My trip ended 3 1/2 weeks early due an emergency funding issue. When I called to seek a partial refund, I was told I should have called before departure rather than after I arrived home. Other than "that is our company policy," no other reason or explanation was provided. Given the high cost of the policy, it seems unreasonable.
