Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
We bought the plan “just in case” and it certainly gave us the peace of mind we hoped for. Luckily for us, the “just in case” did not happen! BUT we were ready…

We did not have to use the coverage, we were lucky all went good with our trip; however, it was a good feeling knowing I had coverage if something did go bad.

While I did not have to make a claim, I know someone on my cruise that had a medical issue and ended up with a medical issue that cost several thousand dollars aboard the ship. They did not have insurance.

Initially it looked like a great plan, but when I ended up needing it, my unique situation was not covered under the requirements. My teen son and I planned a cruise and flight to meet it. He’s been overseas with me and has been on a cruise a couple years ago, but he has a very complex type of autism and mental health issues, and the days right before the trip, he had extreme panic attacks and an exacerbation of anxiety to the point of agoraphobia and could not go at the last minute. I read the policy again and I’d said for mental health reasons he had to have been hospitalized, and even for general medical, his doctor would have to say he could not go….but in his state he could not and did not meet these requirements. It was triggering more anxiety to think of leaving the house that week, and I told him his mental health was more important than all the money I was losing (which I’m paying off still). I’m going to have to think differently next time I get insurance.

First of all, we had a group of 10 people on a plan.
Had bad weather in Wisconsin and our flight to Houston was cancelled. We were to join a cruise in Houston but because of the delay, we had to join in Cozumel and had to take a flight to get there and had a hotel stay. This should be a simple trip interruption claim from Nationwide, and this is what their agents told me. That was a month ago, submitted all of the information. they literally just asked for the same information again. I had submitted to another travel insurance company for someone and had their cash back to them in 2 weeks.
Based on my experience, you can fine better insurance,

It was quick and easy to get the coverage I needed. Fortunately for me, I did not have to use it but felt more comfortable knowing I had coverage as needed. Policy I chose was reasonably priced and provided all the coverages I needed.
