Luckily I didn't need to use the coverage I purchased so I cannot provide any input on the actual plan or coverage based on having to use it. The policy price and coverage as per the marketing materials was good in my estimation.

Hard to review your plan until something happens and then you're in a better position to evaluate the plan, coverage, satisfaction and eventually a recommendation. At this point since we had not problems, who knows how the plan would have worked for us. You never know how good a plan is until you have to file a claim then all the issues come into play - what's covered and what's not.

Thankfully, we did not need to avail ourselves of this insurance. So no experience in how it all works. But I really was looking for coverage "just in case," remembering an experience with my mother-in-law which required expensive evacuation.

It gave me great security to know that I'd be covered in case needed. Another group's excursion bus was rear-ended by an island driver. Glad I would have been covered should it have been me!

What I needed was a simple card to state overall coverage AND important telephone numbers. Too many pieces of paper with hard-to-find critical contact info in case services needed.

Annual
One of our travel group became seriously ill and had to use the OnCall services which made us a great believer of travel insurance. We don't leave home without it and hope that we never need it, but it is comforting to know we are covered.

On Call International
Single Trip
Fortunately, we did not have to use On Call International's coverage, but we did try to contact them while in Ecuador. For some reason, we had trouble calling collect to On Call, but after we brought this to their attention by email, they were more than happy to call us at our hotel telephone. Overall, we were glad for the piece of mind that this policy/membership gave us while we were abroad.
