Any insurance is hard to judge unless you use it. We didn't file a claim, but we did have a family emergency while we were gone. We contacted CSA to see if it would be covered and never got a real response (it wasn't clear reading the fine print). I guess that part of the protection that we needed is underwritten by another insurer and through several emails the end result was "just do it and find out later if it's covered". Perhaps they cannot promise coverage ahead of time, but at least some more guidance would have been helpful to have informed our plans.

I take out insurance for the unexpected situations that could arise, so I wouldn't have to worry. This time all went smoothly and I didn't have to make any claims.

Our flight was cancelled on the first day of our tour package. We made a claim for meals and unreundable costs for the lost days. CSA paid the claim in a timely manner without any hassle. We will use CSA for our next tour.

It was hard to judge as (happily) we did not need to use it. I would have liked to be able to add coverage for cancel any time without having to do within such limited time frame of booking my travel.
