Obtaining the policy was very easy. I thankfully didn't need to file a claim, and since that's where the rubber meets the road, I can't evaluate the claims process. One thing I couldn't easily find was a policy where you could pick and choose the benefits. For example, my health insurance covers medical expenses outside of the country, and I didn't want to pay for additional coverage that I wouldn't need. But I didn't see policies that provided that option.

My primary goal was to be sure that If I needed to be evacuated that I had a policy for that possibility. It appears that each coverage wants to be sure that a previous coverage does not cover, in this case, evacuation. I learned from Humana that I must spend my dollars first, return to the US and then file for reimbursement.
I'm not sure how your carrier would have performed in this instance, but I felt good about having the extra protection.

Although we didn't file a claim, we made a couple changes prior to leaving on our 20 day trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos. The changes were handled easily, promptly, and documented shortly after. We would use Generali again when the need for TI arises.

Nice to know we had coverage if needed. Had no need to file any claim. Appreciated the helpful comparison page on the website, and the knowledgeable phone consultations with staff. Didn't care too much for the person who responded to my first on-line chat, but later on-line questions were answered fully and respectfully. Already bought coverage for our next trip.
