I took my 81 year old mother to Paris and London to celebrate her birthday. I needed to know that if anything catastrophic happened to either of us (but more her) that we would be covered. I am an experienced traveler and know that medical emergencies requiring care or transportation back to the US can be extremely expensive. Although we did not, thankfully, need to use the coverage I purchased, it provided peace of mind at a very reasonable price.

Chances are you won't need to file a clam . Who wants to take a chance . It helps make the trip more enjoyable knowing you have some back up in insurance.

I wanted a medical plan for Europe because Medicare doesn't cover outside the U.S. This policy seemed to cover what I felt was needed with a reasonable cost.

This was simply the first time I traveled outside the country since being under Medicare, knowing that in case of an emergency, I would not have coverage without additional health insurance coverage. It does give one the benefit of 'peace of mind.'
