Using your service was stupid easy. The agent was helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. I got more coverage than I was shopping for. It cost less than I anticipated. The documentation provided was excellent on what I was getting and how to use the policy if needed.
I immediately called two friends who were traveling internationally and reminded them that they needed coverage, and they also bought policies.
I am happy to say I did not have any problems that required me to use my policy, so I can not comment on response issues.

As described to me online by a sales agent, I feel the terms for unexpected illness of a relative is too stringent if that relative has chronic health issues. In my case, my brother has cystic fibrosis and is had recently had surgery. Given he's had dozens of surgeries, I was not led to believe any issues he had would've allowed for an early return from the coveted trip. I did not become an issue, but in hindsight I don't think I would've used this coverage again.

Glad that I did not have to use insurance on my recent trip to Greenland and Iceland but it was very good to know I have the coverage if it was need.

I did not file a claim, so my review is about the phone contacts during the prevacation stage. My calls were always answered promptly - I did not have to go through a long menu and wait time. My calls were always answered by a polite and friendly representative.
I needed to call a number of times because we bought one plan for my son, who does not live with us, and a different plan for my husband and me. Each time I called, either to get information or to firm up a start and end date, I got a recommendation for a different, and sometimes better, plan at a lower cost. While this was welcome and appreciated, I wondered why it was not offerred initially. If I had not needed to make multiple calls, I would have had less coverage for more money. This also happened the last time that we used your service when we went to Spain in 2015.
On my next trip, I would certainly use your service to buy insurance. However, I would call back to confirm that the plan I am considering is the best that you can offer.

We didn't have to file a claim so all is well. My son and I were in Canada fly fishing at a fly-in lodge 350 mikes south of the arctic circle so coverage for medical evacuation was important to me. Our Global Alert policy seemed to provide more coverage for that particular item at less cost than comparable plans.

As with most insurance, the devil is in the details and I found the whole thing (what was covered, what wasn't) confusing. I wish everything could be summarized clearly in one page. I never understood exactly what I was getting for my purchase.

Unfortunately, I had to cancel my trip to Russia and canceled the insurance I had purchased. Since it was within the 14 day review period, I was told the full premium would be refunded, and I am now waiting for the refund to show on my credit card statement.
Working with Insure My Trip was helpful and pleasant. The agent was patient and took the time to answer all of my questions and to work with me to determine the appropriate plan for my situation. The plan seemed to provide the coverage I wanted and the cost was reasonable. I would use Insure MyTrip again if insurance were needed.
If a Customer Care representative cares to contact me, I would be willing to talk with that person.

The Global Alert Preferred Plus policy provides coverage in the event there is an "Accidental Injury, Sickness or death of You, Your Traveling Companion, Your Family Member, or Your Business Partner"
"“Pre-Existing Condition†means any Accidental Injury, Sickness or condition of You, Your Traveling Companion, or Your Family Member booked to travel with You for which medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment was recommended or received within the 180 day period ending on the Effective Date. Sicknesses or conditions are not considered pre-existing if the Sickness or condition for which prescribed drugs or medicine is taken remains controlled without any change in the required prescription."
At the time of purchase, if your brother was home and stable the pre-existing condition exclusion would not have applied to him. The definition of pre-existing conditions only includes Traveling Family Members. However, if he was currently undergoing any treatment or was hospitalized, a related claim would likely not be covered.
