The biggest drawback to this plan is that practically speaking it is worthless when facing terrorism or threats from conflicts. There is no cancellation coverage until the State Department applies a “Level 4 Do Not Travel” rating, which they are not likely to do in many cases for diplomatic reasons, or until there is a terrorism incident within 30 days of your travel to a city on your itinerary. For example, even now, Israel is not rated at level 4, even with an ongoing conflict. So, you have to depend on your travel company to cancel the trip voluntarily and give you a refund. Also, bear in mind that many incidents that are terroristic are not labeled as such by our government for various reasons. They do not rate countries or classify behaviors with the safety of citizens as their first priority. Rather, they make ratings and designations for political or diplomatic reasons. This means that criteria such as these are not useful for determining if it is safe or psychologically comfortable to travel. In short, be aware you are unlikely to be able to alter you travel plans for these reasons, even when conditions are risky.

I hope I don't ever need to file a claim, but this multiTrip plan is exactly what I wanted to give me the peace of mind for international traveling this year. I appreciate the emails received from WorldTrip. I like that their covered by Lloyd's of London.

First of all, no one is perfect, therefore top rating is not likely unless exceptional.
Secondly, every trip should be evaluated individually. Therefore, no one company is going to be necessarily a good referral. But this company compared very favorably to other policies for this trip.
Finally, your actuaries should be able to calculate an additional charge to "insure the insurance". Globally you know the probability of a claim being filed. Therefore, an option should be added to your policies to allow for an extra premium to return the initial premium should a claim not be filed . This would enhance the attractiveness of you policy and increase sales. Please give this serious consideration and contact me if you wish to discuss this further. Thank you.

My friend and I bought this plan instead of a more basic medical-only plan because we wanted protection in case flights were delayed or interrupted, or in case luggage was delayed or lost. From our experience, it was not worth it.

We did indeed have a 24-hour delay due to a missed connection. I thought I would receive the advertised payout, but it was only for expenses incurred during the delay. Since the airline paid for our hotel and gave us meal vouchers, we had zero expenses and thus were not reimbursed anything. I had thought we would receive a straight payout as compensation for the delay, but that was obviously not the case.

My friend also had his luggage lost/delayed for over 24 hours at our destination. Again, there was no direct payout, only reimbursement for things like new clothes or laundry. I had let my friend borrow my spare clothes, so again, there were no expenses to be reimbursed. If we were to do it over again, I would have suggested my friend just go on a shopping spree for free clothing since apparently that was covered.

I imagine the medical coverage was worthwhile, but we didn't need to use it. You can get medical coverage separately at a fraction of the cost of this plan. I really don't think this was worth the cost, and I suggest you read the fine print before buying it over a more basic medical-only plan.

Thank you for your review, please see the response from World Trips.

"Hi Taylor. We are sorry to hear of the dissatisfaction with your travel policy. While we did not receive a formal claim from you, based on the review of your call to us, we can confirm that your policy only covers actual incurred expenses under a eligible benefit. There is no indemnity benefit under the policy you purchased."

Plan was purchased specifically for COVID quarantine coverage on a tour to supplement medical and other travel coverage already provided. The plan was affordable. I did not have a claim so can't review their Customer Service or Claims Process.

The plan was easy to purchase, but I did not file a claim. Therefore it is difficult to rate as I never contacted the company to ask for anything.
