We purchased a Gold Plan for an expensive trip to Antarctica and Patagonia.
Unfortunately, the ship suffered major engine failure and our voyage scheduled
a few weeks later was cancelled. Our plans to tour Patagonia were also cancelled.
We contacted the Insurance company who provided a complete set of claim forms.
We worked to reschedule aspects of our trip and obtain credits where possible.
Despite our efforts we were faced with a significant loss. However, we are pleased
to report that the Insurance Company responded in a timely manner and provided a
check to cover our loss. That's right....no request for additional information. No hassles.
No delays. They behaved exactly as we wished and they will continue to be our Insurance
Company for all future trips. Well done!.

Our trip was delayed for 3 days due to canceled flights because of a snowstorm. I called the claims dept. to see if we could claim the trip cost , as we were going to miss the first 3 days of the tour and would like to reschedule it for another time. I was told that yes we were covered if flights were canceled for 24 hours but only if the airport was officially closed. Seems like a loophole, as all flights in and out of the airport were canceled but the airport was not "officially closed." They said we could put in a claim under the trip delay coverage which had a limit of $150/day to a maximum of $500 total. This was done and the claim was processed promptly.

This plan worked perfectly and paid for itself, twice. A 24-hour delay by the airline caused me to miss a night in a hotel that I had pre-paid for. On the 3rd day of my trip, I was taken to the hospital for a horrific case of food poisoning. I kept all the paperwork from both the airline and hospital, emailed it in with a simple claim form and 5 days later there was a check in my mailbox! Super easy!
